About
Welcome and thanks for stopping by! 4 The Future is a not-for-profit foundation committed to ensuring that school-aged children have access to superior educational tools and resources regardless of income level.
Public schools receive a large portion of their funding from local property tax revenues. Therefore, schools which serve students from more prosperous communities – where taxes are generally higher – receive more money than ones in less affluent areas. The money is budgeted for basic supplies such as sports equipment; text books; computers, building maintenance and repairs; art supplies and the like.
In the current economy budget cuts are being made in every state and city. Unfortunately our underfunded schools are now receiving even less funds. Until we realize the importance of investing in our children’s futures it is imperative that the community does all they can to make up the difference.
Quite simply, more funds mean more supplies. This results in huge disparities among schools which directly, and negatively, handicaps poorer students.
As you probably know many schools – particularly those in low income areas – have only enough funding to supply their students with the most rudimentary learning tools. Paper, pencils and textbooks are desperately needed and it is not uncommon for teachers to buy much-needed supplies with their own money. This places an obvious burden on our educators, but more importantly means our children miss invaluable learning opportunities… ones that will surely have a negative impact on their future. That’s why our organization is dedicated to providing young students opportunities that they might not otherwise have by donating current textbooks; state-of-the-art technology; sports equipment; and other supplies. But We Need Your Help… We can’t do this alone! Your generous donations of time, money and/or supplies mean that we can continue our work. No contribution is too small and every piece of paper; old computer; soccer ball; and ruler is greatly appreciated! To learn more about how you can help out, please visit our Contributions page. Thanks in advance for your kind support. Although still in our infancy, we’ve already enhanced the education of many young students in our home state of Florida and elsewhere. We welcome all ideas, suggestions and comments.
