Board of Directors
President: Tara Greer (Scarborough) attended the University of South Florida and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She then completed her Masters degree in Business at American Intercontinental University through their accelerated program. Mrs. Greer was married in Feb 2011 and she and her husband are raising their son. While Mrs. Greer was attending the University of South Florida she decided that her life had to have a greater purpose then living for herself.
Jennifer Behnam has a Masters Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Social Policy and Administration from Florida State University. Jennifer has over 14 years of experience working with nonprofit agencies, in direct service and administrative roles. Her last role was the Chief Program Officer of Family Support Services of North Florida, the lead agency for child welfare services in Jacksonville, Florida. She is also skilled at creating new social service programs to improve services to families and is currently the President of BRITE Consulting Services. She lives in the Tampa area and travels throughout Florida as she continues her experience working with nonprofits.
Treasurer: Brenda Scarborough is the owner of Accountable Management & Realty, Inc., located in Lutz, Florida. She has been a key player in the self storage industry for over twenty years, specializing in full service management, consulting, and training. Brenda has been an active member of both the Self Storage Association and the Florida Self Storage Association for many years, serving on the Boards and several committees for each and is currently on the SSA Board of Directors. She is the treasurer of One City Ministries and active in Grow Life Church.
Secretary: Allison Bicknell is a happily married mother of two beautiful daughters. She is English, but has lived inTampa for over twenty years now. She came to America in 1989 because it seemed an adventurous thing to do! Since then she has been working for Pasco County Schools, first at Northwest Elementary in Hudson, and beginning in 1987 at Denham Oaks Elementary in Lutz.
As an educator, her area of expertise is special education. She has been working with special needs students for the past 25 years, and achieved her National Board Certification in this field in 2008. From 2009 to 2011 she held the position of “Student Achievement Coach for ESE” at Denham Oaks. In that role, she had the opportunity to coach teachers as they developed teaching skills and strategies that would help them better meet the needs of ESE students in their classes. Currently she is supporting teachers and students at the same school in K-2. In addition, she is an Active Parenting presenter for the district. In this role she has had an opportunity to train local parents who need help with behavior management or communication issues in their homes.
Outside of work, what she enjoys most is time with her family. She is excited to have an opportunity to further serve children in the local community through the 4 The Future organization, and hopes to be an asset to that cause.
Ms. Beam works in administration and is a regional travel and meeting coordinator for a international company. She is involved with non-profit organizations and her local church. She is instrumental in developing relationships with those she has met throughout the years in her work and through her board work in the non-profit organizations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management fromEckerdCollege.
Karen Handlos graduated from USF with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and later with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently in her 10th year in education and is serving her second year as a Peer Evaluator with Hillsborough County School District.
She is also a proud single mother of an almost 5 year old. Karen is actively engaged with her church, Discovery Christian Church and looks forward to all that God has in store for her family.

vonne Whatley- Is a graduate of Leto High School and the University of South Florida. She has a B. A. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a second major in Education. She has been a science teacher at Hudson High School for the past thirty-four years. During those years she has taught almost every type of science class offered. She was the science department head and have served in that capacity on Hudson’s Leadership Team for over twenty years. She was the sponsor of Hudson’s chapter of The National Honor Society for twenty years. She also has been the sponsor of one of Hudson’s Christian Clubs, the Agape’ Club for thirty years. Over the years she has participated in many educational committees at the school and county levels. It has been a rewarding career but she is looking forward to retiring this June and what adventure may be in the future.
